Woman Tries to Rob Myrtle Avenue Deli: Police Blotter

With her young child in tow, Yvette Ray, 23, allegedly stole a taser, cake and Sunny Delight from Ten Star Deli on May 2.

The following arrest information was supplied by the New York Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A round-up of crime in the area: 

At 3:35 p.m. on April 20 at a playground in Fort Greene Park, a woman said her 12-year-old son was riding his skateboard near the monument when another child pushed him to the ground and took the skateboard. The boy suffered a bruised elbow and wrist as a result, but didn't go to the hospital. Both boys attend Fort Greene Prep. 

At 8:30 a.m on April 29, a 21-year-old woman got into an argument with her boyfriend while they were on North Oxford Walk near Park Avenue. The man grabbed the woman's cellphone from her hand and punched her in her face, violating an order of protection she had out against him. The woman complained of pain to her forehead, and was bruised and cut on her right cheek and right forearm.
 
At 5:55 p.m. on April 29, a 26-year-old woman was walking east on Myrtle Avenue near Monument Walk when an unknown man approached her from behind and slapped her in the face. He grabbed her iPhone from her hand and ran off. 

At 3 p.m. on May 2, with her young child in tow, Yvette Ray, 23, allegedly stole a taser, cake and Sunny Delight from Ten Star Deli located at 299 Myrtle Ave. When the store clerk tried to stop Ray, she pulled out the taser and threatened to use it. She was arrested in connection to the incident. 

At 11:35 a.m. on May 2, a 40-year-old woman left her car parked in front of 94 Grand Avenue. When she returned at 12 p.m., her driver side window was broken and her purse, makeup, $100 in cash, ATM card and driver's license were missing. 

At 9:50 p.m. on May 4, a 53-year-old woman was going to a birthday party on Cumberland Walk near Park Avenue when someone tried to rip her purse off her shoulder. She said the person said "Give me your purse," but she held on to it and the person was unable to get away with it.
