Women Ransack Man's Home, Make Off With His Blue Suede Shoes

Items taken included credit card, iPhone and blue suede shoes.

A round-up of recent crime in the area:

At 2:30 a.m. on June 16 a 37-year-old man was walking home from a bar when he ran into two women he did not know at DeKalb and Vanderbilt avenues. The women said if the man bought them beer, they would come back to his apartment and party. 

He invited both women into his apartment and became intimate with one woman, not paying attention to the other. About 20 minutes later, he noticed the woman he was not paying attention to had left his apartment. Approximately 10 minutes later, the woman he was with received a phone call and said she would come back in 10 minutes. 

The man then noticed his laptop, iPhone, credit card and a pair of JCrew blue suede shoes were missing from the apartment. After that, a charge was made for Greyhound line tickets to Dallas, Texas. 

At 8:30 a.m. on June 8 a 45-year-old man parked his 1995 Honda Civic in front of 163 Washington Park, and when he came back to the car at 10:31 p.m. on June 11, the car was gone. 

At 2:35 p.m. on June 11, 50-year-old Jose Lebron was approached by police because he fit the description of someone who had broken into a vehicle. Lebron became irate and started shouting obscenities. Lebron had no form of identification and when was placed under arrest to verify his identity, and he was found to have a checkbook that did not belong to him. The checks were used to make $1,600 in unauthorized withdrawals at a Citibank. 

At 12:01 a.m., on June 13 a woman parked her car at 405 Carlton Avenue and when she came back to the car at 8:10 a.m., the passenger side window had been broken and her handbag had been taken. 

At 4:40 p.m. on June 12 a 35-year-old woman parked her car at 71 Lefferts Place and when she came back to the car at 11:45 a.m. on June 13, she discovered the car had been broken into. The car's driver's side front door had been damaged and a men's suit and men's shirt had been taken from the car.
