Film Screening: Meathooked!

MeatHooked! is a documentary about meat and the rise and fall and rise again of butchers and butchering in and around NYC. The film features local butchers and their different experiences in a dynamic industry where economic issues, environmental concerns and cultural heritage all play a part in how, why and when we consume meat.

Stay after the screening for a tasty talk back with the filmmaker and local butchers including “rock star butcher” Joshua Applestone and Jessica Applestone of Fleisher’s in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Robin Shulman, author of Eat the City will moderate.
