The BAM Fisher is a community performing arts facility offered by BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music). The BAM FisherMore includes the Fishman Space, a 250 seat theater, as well as rehearsal and performance studios, classroom space, a rooftop terrace and the Sharp Lobby, an exhibition space. This is one of several BAM facilities in the neighborhood. It is used for theater, dance, music, talks and educational and family programming, as well as for professional development. Formerly the Majestic, this theater was abandoned in 1968 and purchased by Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) in 1987.More Originally a playhouse then a movie theater, BAM renovated it, retaining much of the well-worn interior, lending it an atmosphere that harks back to the theaters of old. Theater productions are held here in the 874-seat auditorium, and the space is available for rental.
