NYC Under Hazardous Weather Outlook For Snow

Storm could dump seven inches of snow on city Saturday.

Planning to get a lot of holiday shopping done this weekend? You may want to rethink that strategy.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook, effective starting Saturday, because of an impending weather system that could blanket the area in inches of snow.

While New York City got some accumulation earlier this week, this weekend's coming storm figures to be larger.

Parts of Brooklyn could see four inches or more of snow during the day, with three more inches possibly piling on Saturday night.

To make matters worse, temperature conditions may pile sleet or freezing rain on top of the snow.

Sunday will likely be windy, with temperatures in the high 30's.
