Adopt a Wittle Kitty This Weekend

Fifty felines in need of a good home will be available to adopt on the spot in Boerum Hill and bay Ridge.

If what your home has been missing for months is the soft pitter patter of feline feet, listen up cat lovers! On Sunday, August 4, two concurrent adoption events in Brooklyn will be hosted by the ASPCA from noon to 5 p.m.

In fact, fifty felines rescued from poor living situations will be available to take home the same day. And, if you needed another incentive, adoption fees will be waived for kittens older than eight months and a free veterinary exam will be available for subsequent appointments.

  • The Sean Casey Mobile Adoption Van will be onsite
  • Dr. Kat Miller, Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist and director of anti-cruelty behavior research for the ASPCA’s Anti-Cruelty Behavior Team, will be available for consultations with potential adopters.

One Love Animal Hospital (Boerum Hill)
317 Atlantic Avenue, Brooklyn, N.Y. 11201 (between Smith and Hoyt Streets)

  • The ASPCA Mobile Adoption Unit will be onsite
  • Adoption counselors from the ASPCA will be on hand to help answer questions about behavior and personality in order to make the best possible match with potential adopters.


Please note, potential adopters should bring one government-issued photo ID (e.g., driver’s license, passport, military ID, or non-driver ID), proof of address, and contact information for a personal reference. Adopters must be 21 or older.

All available cats will be spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, vaccinated, behaviorally assessed, and provided an ID tag free of charge.
