ACS Relay for Life in Bay Ridge: Fifteen Years Strong!

Families, friends and youth gathered together on Saturday to raise more than $100K for the American Cancer Society.

The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life event took place Saturday at the Fort Hamilton High School Athletic Field on Saturday, June 22.

Gathering together 71 teams and 417 members from the Bay Ridge, Bensonhurst and Dyker Heights communities, it's one of the largest such fundraisers in the city. This year $176,551.06 was raised in total.

In the video above, coordinator Nancy Colt shares why this 15-year-old event has become such a cornerstone of the three Brooklyn neighborhoods. (In addition to raising lots of money, local participants are also great dancers.)
