Israeli Folk Dance, Celebrate Brooklyn! Highlight a Fun Week Ahead

Gospel and old-timey music at Celebrate Brooklyn, women of color teacher leadership open house and more.

Monday
Whether you're a folk dance fan, want to relive your summer on the kibbutz or simply get a great workout, hop on the Q, G or F train to Church Avenue and join an Israeli Folk Dance Class. Class from 7:30 to 9 followed by an open dance session. $10. 

Tuesday
Are you a woman of color who teachers in a public school? Interested in developing your leadership skills? Then head to The Devi Project's Open House at the Grand Army Plaza library, where you can learn about their leadership development program beginning in Fall 2013. 3:30 p.m. Make sure to RSVP. Wednesday
Support the Prospect Park Alliance at its Summer Soiree 2013, an evening of drinks, hors d’oeuvres and music. 7 p.m. $55. 

Thursday
Head back to Prospect Park tonight for Celebrate Brooklyn! where tonight the theme is gospel with a line-up of Bebe Winans and Alicia Olatuja. If "dangerous old-‐timey music" is more your think, then head on over Friday for
Trampled by Turtles/ The Devil Makes Three and Brown Birda.

Friday
Come to the free community screening of The House I Live Inan award winning documentary about the failed war on drugs and mass incarceration of low income communities. This screening is sponsored by the Campaign to End the New Jim Crow and the Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Center.
