The Swedish electro-soul outfit LITTLE DRAGON, fronted by the enchanting vocalist Yukimi Nagano, plays “richly textured and highly vibe-y electronic music that could soundtrack both the dance party and the chill-out room.” (Rolling Stone) After recording a handful of hits with various collaborators in the European downtempo lounge scene, Nagano formed the band and released Test, its first single, in 2006. Their self-titled, full-length debut came the next year, followed by 2009’s Machine Dreams and 2011’s Ritual Union, which along with their reputation for ecstatic live shows have led to a deeply devoted and exponentially increasing fan base—expect a packed and happy Bandshell for this one. With Brooklyn indie scene vet FRANKIE ROSE (ex. Vivian Girls, Crystal Stilts, and Dum Dum Girls), whose sophomore solo effort Interstellar is “a big, second-album leap of faith into deeper waters, a sparkling synth-pop record,” (Pitchfork) and special guest DJ’s VOICES OF BLACK.

The Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts (MoCADA) and the African Film Fest (AFF) celebrate the 13th Annual Kidflix Film Fest of Bedford-Stuyvesant throughout the month of August! Not only will there be newly released films and live performances but you can also expect children’s art workshops, face painting, food, and Q&A opportunities with the directors.

FAB Alliance is hosting FREE CONCERTS FOR KIDS beginning this FRIDAY, APRIL 20, 2012, 10AM-11AM- with live performances for children outdoors at the new Putnam Triangle Plaza, crossing Fulton Street and Grand Avenue in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. There's a free concert for kids each month, April-September.

On April 20th, there will be games, and free arts and crafts activities for kids from 3PM-6PM. Live music will be available that day from 5PM-8PM at the Putnam Triangle Plaza, the Garage at Fulton Street and Vanderbilt Avenue, and Fowler Square.
