Hamptons Agenda: Patti LuPone, 'Men's Lives,' ArtWalk

An "ArtWalk," a movie outdoors, a seal release, and more fireworks could lead to a happening weekend outdoors on the East End. Here are some of the hottest events happening in the Hamptons this weekend.

FIREWORKS: The in Amagansett will be hosting a private fireworks display on Saturday at 9:15 p.m., but the public can view the show from Fresh Pond Beach.

THEATER: The John Drew Theater at Guild Hall presents a one-night only performance with and Mandy Patinkin on Saturday at 7 p.m. A limited number of super premium seats are available for benefit ticket buyers that include dinner immediately following the performance. Performance-only ticket prices run from $145 to $200.  For tickets call 631-324-0806 ext 13 or 14.

MUSIC: will perform an acoustic evening of pop-rock at The Stephen Talkhouse on Friday at 8 p.m. A former singer of the New York Dolls, Johansen has had an extensive solo career. In the '80s he played as part of Saturday Night Live's house band under the name of Buster Poindexter.  He currently hosts his own weekly radio show, "David Johansen's Mansion of Fun" on Sirius. Tickets are $25 for general admission and $40 for VIP seating.  Call 631-267-3117.

DOCUMENTARY: Guild Hall's John Drew Theater in partnership with the Hamptons International Film Festival presents the return of their SummerDocs series featuring host Alec Baldwin on Friday at 7 p.m. will be screened and a talkback will follow with Baldwin and Director Malik Bendjelloul. The film is about an American folk singer named Rodriguez who fades into obscurity in the 1970's and faces rumors of death. Two decades later two filmmakers set out to uncover the mystery of his tale. Tickets are $22 for non-members and $20 for members. A limited number of VIP reception tickets are available for $100 and include the screening, and an after-party at c/o The Maidstone. For tickets call 631-324-0806.

GALLERY TOUR: is holding a reception and tour Saturday beginning at 5 p.m., that will be hosted by Sotheby's International Realty to kick off the new season. ArtWalk Hamptons is a free self-guided tour of various art galleries throughout the village of East Hampton on select Saturdays that allows visitors to embrace the thriving art community at hand. OUTDOOR MOVIE: The John Drew Theater at Guild Hall presents in partnership with the East Hampton Historical Society a summer series of "E.T." will be shown on Friday at 8:30 p.m. at Mulford Farm.  You can bring your blanket and a picnic. Tickets are $5 and free to children ages 5 and under.

THEATRE:  Bay Street Theatre presents Directed by Harris Yulin and written by Joe Pintauro, the play is based on the book by Peter Matthiessen. The story tells of struggling fishermen on the East End who were forced to launch war against the government and the effects of the economic changes in the Hamptons.  It tells the tale of families trying to maintain their way of life and survive in ever changing times.  This play was the inaugural production at Bay Street Theatre in 1992, and 20 years later, local fishermen are still fighting for their survival. Tickets are $55 and $66. Weekend performances run Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., and Sunday at 7 p.m.

OUTDOOR MOVIE: "Marathon Man" will be shown outdoors at Silas Marder Gallery in Bridgehampton on Friday at 9 p.m. The film showing is part of a series happening throughout the summer called presented in partnership with the Hamptons International Film Festival. All films are free and you may bring beach chairs, blankets, and a picnic.

PICNIC & FIREWORKS:  The Southampton Fresh Air Home will host its 25th annual , beginning at 7 p.m, with a fireworks display by Grucci to follow.  The event will be held at 1030 Meadow Lane. The fireworks will be displayed to patriotic music and will be viewable over Shinnecock Bay. For more information about the picnic call 631-283-5847.

MUSIC: , a Bruce Springsteen tribute band, will be performing at the Canal Room Southampton on Saturday, continuing the Fourth of July celebration weekend at 11 p.m. Tickets are $35. 

PET EVENT: Little Lucy's, a canine couture boutique in Southampton, will be hosting a from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday. Complimentary refreshments for you and your pooch will be served. This event will be happening every Saturday throughout the summer, and every week a new adoptable dog will be on hand to meet from various rescue organizations. GALA: The Southampton Historical Museum is hosting its annual at the 1680 Thomas Halsey Homestead to celebrate our nation's independence, on the grounds of the museum on Saturday at 2 p.m.  Hors d'oeuvres will be served, while guests enjoy music and a silent auction.  Proceeds from the event will benefit the museum's education programs. Tickets are $125 in advance and $150 at the door. For reservations call 631-283-2494.

SEAL RELEASE & COAST GUARD OPEN HOUSE: A female , named Tabasco, will be released by the Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation at Coast Guard Station Shinnecock on Saturday at noon. Tabasco was rescued from Atlantic Beach back in April with cuts and scrapes and patches of fur missing. Now eating t12 pounds of fish per day, it is time for her to return home.

This release will take place as part of the also happening on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m at Coast Guard Station Shinnecock.

Both events are free.

MUSIC: Grammy-Award Winning musician, , will perform at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. Tyrell will be singing songs from his latest album, I'll Take Romance. Tickets are $100, $75 or $50 and can be purchased by calling 631-288-1500.

MUSIC: Wrapping up the weekend, , a British-indie pop band, will perform at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $35, $30 and $25, and can be purchased by calling 631-288-1500.
