The Early Word: Nets Sign Jerry Stackhouse to One-Year, $1.4M Deal

Latest move comes as team prepares to inaugurate new home in Brooklyn.

1. The Brooklyn Nets further solidified its lineup Monday with the announced signing of veteran Jerry Stackhouse to a one-year, $1.4 million contract. Stackhouse played 30 games for the Atlanta Hawks last season, averaging 3.6 points in 9.1 minutes. In other basketball news, after he crashed his 2010 Cadillac Escalade into a telephone pole over the weekend—just days after the New York Knicks signed him to a three-year, $9.5 million contract.
