Lia Neal; Team USA Take Bronze Medal

Australia nabs gold; USA swim team, including Brooklyn's Lia Neal, earn bronze medal in 400 free relay.

Fort Greene and all of Brooklyn can now boast having a medalist in the 2012 Olympics.

, 17, as part of the 4 x 100 Women's Meter Freestyle Relay team, won the bronze in competition on Saturday afternoon.

Australia earned gold with a time of 3:33.15, with the Netherlands taking the silver medal at 3:33.79.

Team USA clocked in at 3:34.24. 

Earlier today, residents young and old joined Councilwoman Letitia James, D-Fort Greene, .

"She's an example for all of these kids," James said.
