Sunday, March 18, 3:00-4:30 pm:  African: Danz/Genics with Ms. Wilhelmena Taylor
Get energized by the rich cultural traditions of West Africa and the African Diaspora.  This class is wonderful for both beginning students (Ms. Taylor is careful to break down the steps and guide you as you learn them) as well as more experienced dancers who want to learn from one of NYC’s most seasoned and versatile African dance teachers. 

Tuesday, March 20, 7:30-9:00 pm:  Dunham Technique with Steffanie White
Pioneered by late dance anthropologist Katherine Dunham, Dunham technique was the first to incorporate Afro-Caribbean dance movements with Ballet. Develop a vocabulary of movement that includes a flexible torso and spine, articulated pelvis, isolations throughout the body, and a heightened demonstration of polyrhythmic movement structures. 

Saturday, March 24, 12:00-1:30 pm:  Afro-Haitian with Julio Jean
Journey to the nanm (“soul” in Haitian Kreyol) of Afro-Haitian dance with renowned master Haitian dance teacher and choreographer Julio Jean. Bonus: you’ll be able to buy an autographed copy of Julio’s new CD: “Kenbe La”!
