Top Teen Players Brawl at M.S. 113 Basketball Game

The Rose Classic semifinal turns violent.

A fight broke out between two of the nation’s top female teen basketball players at on Carlton Avenue in Fort Greene on Sunday night during the first quarter of a Nike-sponsored Rose Classic semifinal game, says the New York Post.

Zaire O’Neal, of the Lady Falcons, and Teanna Muldrow, of the Sparks—both northern New Jersey teams—got into a disagreement during the match before the fight turned physical and other players joined in the melee, according to the report.

“Everybody just got in a pack throwing blows, and then everybody just locked in and hit the floor,” Rick Jones, a parent who witnessed the incident told the Post.

Rose Classic president Anton Marchand—brother of rapper Foxy Brown—tried to downplay the fight as simply a “dust-up” and confirmed that both teams forfeited the game as a result.

“The kids have to learn this is a game,” Sparks coach Keith Gilchrist said.
