Sept. 28: City Schools Teams Up With Jets To Fight Hunger

Sweepstakes aims to encourage parents to participate in city schools' meal program.

1. Schools chancellor Dennis Walcott met up this week with Jets star Dustin Keller to spread the word about the city's SchoolFoods program. To add extra incentive for parents and students, applicants will be automatically enrolled in a sweepstakes program—with the winning family getting a trip for two to the NFL's Pro Bowl in Hawaii in 2012.

2. Community Board 2's deals with local issues that affect young people. The community also  serves as a go-between with the libraries and youth-related, education and cultural city agencies. Meeting is tonight at 6 p.m. at .

3. BAMcinematek's "When Movies Mattered" series ends today with screenings of Family Plot, about two couples who almost don't meet, but are brought together by chance circumstances in the final frame.

4. See work and work-in-progress by a wide variety of experimental artists from different genres at Alliance of Resident Theaters New York on S. Oxford. Tonight's event is moderated by Marjani Forté, and features artists Jessie Tomanek, Lauren Bakst, Becca Weber and Chris Ferris.
