P.S. 46 Teacher Arrested for Assaulting Student

Witnesses said aggressive educator bruised a 7-year-old girl's arm.

A teacher at P.S. 46 was arrested for getting physical with a 7-year-old girl on Wednesday.

Witnesses told cops that Malcom McConnachie, a teacher at the Clermont Avenue school, grabbed the young student by the arm and forced her into a chair at around 11:06 a.m.

McConnachie, 50, was charged with assault and endangering the welfare of the child, which are both misdemeanors.

The child was taken to for bruising on her arm.

A Department of Education spokeswoman did not return a phone call.

The Brooklyn Paper reported that McConnachie had been a teacher at P.S. 46 for 10 years, and that he will not be teaching classes pending his trial.
