Nigerian Artist Suing Pratt Over Sexual Harassment Allegations

The former MFA student, who began his degree in 2012, is fighting to gain readmission to the prestigious arts school.

A Nigerian artist is suing the Pratt Institute and trying to gain readmission after the school expelled him upon allegations that he sexually harassed fellow students.

The award-winning painter, Onyeka Ibe, 42, has denied claims that he followed a woman into the bathroom, asking her to film him masturbating onto her naked body, and repeatedly asked coeds to pose nude for him, the New York Post reported

Court papers show Pratt expelled the former MFA student and warned him that if he attempted to speak to students he thought reported him, the administration would take action.

Pratt's sexual harassment policy states that the school: ”expressly prohibits any form of retaliatory action against anyone availing him/herself of this procedure [filing harassment claims]."
