Preventing Caregiver Burnout with VNSNY & Assemblyman Hakeem Jeffries
The Visiting Nurse Service of New York is partnering with Assemblyman Hakeem Jeffries who will be hosting a free, hour-long Preventing Caregiver Burnout seminar on Februray 2, 2012, from 1:00pm – 2:00pm at the Grace Agard Harewood Center (966 Fulton Street (between Grand & St. James) Brooklyn, NY, 11238) specifically for those who are caretakers and might be feeling the stresses of caring for loved ones.
More than 65 million Americans, 29 percent of the U.S.
population, provide care for chronically ill, disabled or aging family members or friends during any given year- and most do this without any kind of skilled training or support. To ensure better health care for New York and Brooklyn specifically, this partnership with the Visiting Nurse Service of New York will provide individuals who are caring for a dependent loved one on ways to reduce stress and avoid caregiver burnout. This is a free community health workshop for family caregivers and their families. There will be an opportunity to ask questions about communicating with physicians, dealing with insurance and other
topics.
We will be serving lunch and are more than happy to
provide transportation for those that may need.
