Williams Accuses Bloomberg, Kelly of Spreading Misinformation
Councilman says campaign against Community Safety Act characterized by lies.
At a press conference Thursday, City Councilman Jumaane Williams urged Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Police Commissioner Ray Kelly to open their minds on the Community Safety Act, which they have both stated opposition to.
Williams also accused the act's opponents of spreading misinformation about what the bill was likely to do to enforcement of the NYPD.
