What's Next in Election Season?

With Thompson's concession this afternoon, our major party candidates are set in the race for City Hall. Democrat Bill de Blasio will face off with Republican Joe Lhota.

So now that you've got that settled, what's left for the candidates to do before Election Day? Check out the list below:

Oct. 1 - Runoff Election: The race for Public Advocate will be decided on Oct. 1. Councilwoman Letitia James and state Sen. Daniel Squadron, both of Brooklyn, will be campaigning aggressively until then. Public Advocate is an oft-forgotten position in the city, but it's an important one. In addition to casting a tie-breaking vote in the city council, the advocate's office can be a springboard to a bigger job — just ask Bill de Blasio.

Oct. 22 - First Mayoral Debate: After what's likely to be a bitter month of campaigning, Lhota and de Blasio will face off on the issues for the first time tonight.

Oct. 29 - Final Mayoral Debate: A week after the first debate, we'll have the second and final debate. It'll be decision time for New Yorkers.

Nov. 5 - Election Day: This is the big one. After this, you won't have to vote again for another year.
