Report: City Dragging Feet On Park Water Fix

Daily News says park fix has been on hold more than a year.

Fort Greene Park has been waiting on a fix for its frequently water-logged entrance for more than a year, according to a report in the New York Daily News.

The steps and concrete near the park's Willoughby Avenue entrance have suffered from water-induced damage, and a fix that was supposedly earmarked for fall 2012 never came about, the paper wrote this week.

The community has been reportedly clamoring for a fix in the area since 2008, and funds have already been earmarked. But because of a lack of communication between city agencies — namely the Parks Department and the Department of Environmental Protection — the ball never got rolling.

Parks advocates told the Daily News that the delay, while frustrating, is all too common in city bureaucracy.
