Permanent Seating To Be Installed at Putnam Pedestrian Plaza

New public space continues to cement its presence in the community.

Once billed as a public works “experiment,” seems to be here to stay.

Permanent benches will be installed “shortly” at the site, enabling Clinton Hill residents and visitors to enjoy the outdoor space all winter long, according to Fulton Area Business Alliance manager Phillip Kellogg.

In the meantime, Kellogg confirmed that movable tables and benches would continue to be put out at the plaza, located on Putnam Avenue between Grand Avenue and Fulton Street, for as long as  allows.

"We'll be watching the weather to determine the schedule going forward," Kellogg wrote via email.

Despite contentions made by some residents that the plaza , the recently installed outdoor space  with Greene-Hillers.

The project was a join effort between FAB and the city Department of Transportation.
