Update, 10:27 a.m., Nov. 7

It's all over, and Barack Obama has gone on to his second term.

After a long, confusing, and sometimes cantankerous day at the polls, New York made its choice known, and much of the rest of the country agreed.

The Romney campaign clung to hopes that a win in Ohio could help them stage a comeback late into the evening, but eventually the GOP candidate conceded.

But Washington wasn't the only story of the night. Below are the winners of all races pertaining to New York City, and an archive of election day coverage.
