New Poll Reveals Tightening Mayoral Race

Quinn's got de Blasio to worry about now.

In news that might come as a relief to City Council Speaker Christine Quinn — and might not — she's leading in yet another Democratic Primary poll this week.

But her lead is clearly shrinking.

A new Marist Poll released this week found that Public Advocate Bill de Blasio — who is leading in another poll — is right on Quinn's heels.

Quinn was polling at 24 percent, with de Blasio just behind at 21 percent.

Bill Thompson as polling in third at 16 percent, with just 12 percent for the waning Anthony Weiner.

“It’s been a topsy-turvy summer, and many Democratic voters are still waiting to be convinced,” says Dr. Lee Miringoff, of The Marist College Institute for Public Opinion.  “Although voters have yet to sort things out, Bill de Blasio has shown the biggest gain in the last couple of weeks.”

If you're interested in voting in the primary, you'd better hurry up and register. All registrations must be postmarked by today.
