MTA: No Shuttle Bus Along Shuttered G, L Train Lines

Transit officials to send 'test trains' on track today.

An MTA spokeswoman confirmed Tuesday that there would be no shuttle bus service along the suspended G line and closed stations on the L line in Brooklyn.

"We can't transport all of the people that take subways on a shuttle bus," she said. "There are not enough buses in the universe to do that."

Councilwoman Letitia James, D-Fort Greene, and District Leader Lincoln Restler had called for the transit agency to provide the service.

As of 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, 3,000 people had signed a petition calling on MTA to set up shuttle buses for as long as the two lines remained dark.

There was one piece of good news for G train riders, however.

MTA officials said they would run "test trains" on the line today — an important first step towards restoring service.
