"I am humbled by the support my candidacy has gained during this period," Cumbo said. "During hard economic times like these, I’m so grateful that over 530 individuals believe so strongly in my message and candidacy to donate to my campaign. This wide-ranging coalition of support knows that as a City Councilmember, I will bring resources back to the District, find innovative ways to bring jobs back into our community, and fight to improve our schools."

Cumbo is up against a range of candidates looking to replace veteran City Councilwoman Letitia James, who is term-limited out of office. The field of political hopefuls includes Ede Fox; Jelani Mashariki; Khari Edwards; and two district leaders, Olanike Alabi and Jesse Hamilton.
