Jeffries' District Says No to Syria Strike

We've got the results of our Patch poll asking readers how U.S. Rep. Hakeem Jeffries should vote on a possible Syria strike — a vote which could come as soon as next week.

An overwhelming majority of readers said Jeffries should vote against a possible strike. The resolution passed out of its Senate subcommittee on Wednesday.

Almost three-quarters of respondents selected "No, our country is war-weary as is," with only five percent of voters saying they agreed with a possible strike.

The remaining 20 percent said they didn't know or thought Jeffries should decide for himself how to vote.

Jeffries, according to his office, is still deliberating on his decision.
