Is Barclays Getting a Second Pro Sports Team?

Brooklyn may become home to the NHL's New York Islanders.

The Nets may be getting some roommates in their new Brooklyn home.

Barclays Center and the New York Islanders will be holding a press conference for a "major announcement" Wednesday at 1:00 p.m.

While no official details have been released, news outlets such as ESPN, the New York Daily News, and USAToday are reporting that the NHL team will be moving into Brooklyn's newly-opened sports and entertainment venue.

If true, don't expect to see any hockey action in Brooklyn any time soon. The league is currently under a lockout, and the Islanders lease at Nassau Coliseum doesn't expire until the end of the 2014-2015 season.
