With polls open until 9 p.m. tonight, campaigns are working themselves into a lather on a warm September day to get out the vote.
A steady stream of voters — not overwhelming in most areas, but constant — has been hitting the polls in Queens and Brooklyn, with outer borough residents vocal about their choices.
In verdant Forest Hills, a voter at Russell Sage Junior High said his votes went along a specifically populist theme.
"I voted for [mayoral candidate John] Liu because he's pro-labor and for [comptroller candidate Eliot] Spitzer because he's anti-Wall Street, so he'll probably keep them honest," said local Ronald Lehman.
Another Forest Hills voter was less than pleased with his options at the polls.
"God help us with these candidates. I picked Quinn because she has more experience, having worked with Bloomberg," he said.
Mayoral front-runner Bill de Blasio pumped up his get out the vote operation on Twitter, tweeting photos of volunteers brandishing bikes and broken-in walking shoes.
City Council Speaker Christine Quinn was all over social media during the day, blasting out photos of her supporters, voters and herself, along with a Primary Day countdown.
