UPDATE, 2:08 p.m.: According to information from the New York Police Department, the victim in Tuesday morning's shooting incident was a 24-year-old woman who was declared dead at Brooklyn Hospital.

The NYPD also lists the shooting as occurring at 470 DeKalb Avenue, not Franklin Avenue, as listed by the FDNY.

Emergency Medical Workers transported two people to Brooklyn after reports of a shooting in Clinton Hill, according to a fire department spokesman.

Emergency crews responded to 271 Franklin Avenue in Clinton Hill after reports of gunshots, at 11:20 a.m. Tuesday morning.

The shooting took place just across the street from the Lafayette Gardens housing developments, and a few blocks from the Pratt Institute's campus.

One victim was a 30-year-old woman who had been shot in the chest, according to the FDNY.

Another person was also taken to the hospital, though a fire department spokesman did not have any information as to whether the second person was also a shooting victim or was accompanying the first victim.
