Washington Navy Yard Gunman a Brooklyn Native

Aaron Alexis, identified as the gunman in Monday's Washington Navy Yard by FBI officials, is a Brooklyn native, according to reports.

Alexis, 34, grew up in Brooklyn with his parents, according to a Washington Post report.

It is unclear whether he acted alone in the shooting, which has left at least 13 victims dead. Alexis, who died at the scene, was last a resident of Texas.

Information with a picture of Aaron Alexis, posted on MugshotsOnline.com, says he was arrested in 2010 for "discharge of firearm in certain municipalities" in Fort Worth, Texas.
