Tillary Street Shelter Sees Multiple Fights One-Week Span: Police Blotter

Also: man tries to pull one-over on liquor store owner, doesn't get far.

Throw Down at Liquor Store

At 4:40 p.m. on July 3, the owner of Gnarly Vines Liquore Store, located at 350 Myrtle Ave., told an officer that Julio Flores, 53, took a Domaine Lucien Barrott Bottle worth $125 without paying and tried to exit the store. Flores returned the item when the owner demanded it, but first he tried to leave with the bottle, showing the owner he had a knife. The owner chased Flores to the south west corner of Myrtle and Carlton avenues where the owner flagged down a police officer. Flores resisted arrest, waving his arms around as the officer tried to handcuff him. 

Problems Arise at Tillary Street Women's Shelter

At 1:40 p.m. on June 29 a 34-year-old woman said she had a fight with someone at the Tillary Street Women's Shelter located at 200 Tillary St.,  when the person hit her in the head several times with a caution wet floor sign.

At 9:40 a.m. on July 1, while at the Tillary Street Women's Shelter, a 59-year-old woman said her friend threw a yogurt at her, hitting her in the ear, injuring her.

Police arrested Monique Minor, 31, at the Tillary Street Women's Shelter at approximately 2 p.m. on July 6 for allegedly attacking a woman. Minor had words with a 36-year-old woman and the fight became physical when Minor began to beat the victim with a metal chain link pants belt. The victim suffered  scratches and bruising to her arms and back. 


Two Teens Jump Woman
  
At 4:50 p.m. on July 2, a 66-year-old woman said she was walking on the sidewalk in front of 84 Clinton Ave. when she was approached by two hispanic teenagers. One of the boys, believed to be 15 years old, punched her in the face, causing bruising and swelling to the right side of her face. The perps fled south on Clinton Avenue.
