The Early Word: Night Out Against Crime Set For Aug. 7

All-day event planned for Fort Greene Park.

1. The will be held locally at Fort Greene Park on Aug. 7 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Fort Greene Park. Sponsored by the 88th Precinct Community and Youth Council, the event will include free rides, food and information. 2. The State Liquor Authority holds their public hearing on Barclays Center's liquor license application. Last week, several state and local elected official put their names to a letter demanding the license be broken up at any part of the arena. 317 Lenox Ave., 4th floor (Manhattan). 11 a.m.

3. Greenlight celebrates the work of Unbridled Books writers Edward Falco, Richard Kramer, Janyce Stefan-Cole and more . Greenlight Bookstore, 686 Fulton St. 7:30 p.m. Free.

4. , hosted by the fabulous Shelly Watson, includes $2 PBRs and 2-for-1 Happy Hour drinks all night. Mo's Fort Greene, 80 Lafayette Ave. 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Free.
