Teenage Boy Hit By Van, In Critical Condition

The 13-year-old tried to cross Park Avenue when he was hit.

 

A 13-year-old boy is in critical condition after being hit by a van while crossing the street in Fort Greene Wednesday morning, police said. 

At approximately 6:44 a.m., the teenager was trying to cross over Park Avenue at Cumberland Avenue in between parked cars when he was hit by a grey 2008 Ford van traveling east on Park Avenue, police said.

The boy was brought to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition. The driver of the van remained on the scene and police said there is no criminality suspected in the accident. 

The NYPD's Highway Patrol Accident Investigation Squad will continue to investigate.
