Teen Robs Classmate: This Week's Police Blotter

Victim of Dec. 2 mugging is a 15-year-old student at Brooklyn School for Career Development in Fort Greene.

Classmates One Day, Victim/Perp the Next

A 15-year-old student at on Clermont Avenue first got an inkling of what trouble was in store when he heard footsteps behind him on Friday, Dec. 2 at approximately 3:30 p.m. A 17-year-old fellow Career Development student, who forcibly removed the younger teen’s cellphone, then punched the student in the face. Police apprehended the thief later that night.

Bizarre Shooting at Ingersoll Houses

At about noon on Sunday, a 22-year-old male opened the door for an unknown male at a residence at Fleet Walk in Ingersoll Houses. Upon opening the door, the visitor fired an unknown amount of shots, . Emergency workers took the victim to Kings County Hospital, where his wounds were discovered to be non-life threatening.

Teen Mugged For Cellphone Near Brooklyn Tech

A 14-year-old male walking to the train station from school on Fort Greene Place on Thursday, Dec. 1 at 2:45 p.m. was approached on the sidewalk by a suspect who said, "What you got in your pockets?" The thief then grabbed the teen's Samsung Gravity cellphone and ran southbound on Fort Greene Place.

“Give Me Your Headphones or I Will Rip It Off Your Neck"

On Thursday, Dec. 1 at 2:27 p.m., a suspect mugged a teen for his $250 Beats By Dr. Dre headphones on the sidewalk near 886 Fulton St. Suspect forcibly removed headphones from the victim, saying, "Give me your headphones or I will rip it off your neck."

Man Robbed, Threatened With Sharp Object

While walking home on Flushing Avenue, a man in his 20s was approached from behind on Sunday, Nov. 27 just after midnight by an unknown suspect who collared him while holding a sharp object to his neck, saying, "Give me your wallet and the phone." The man handed over his iPhone and wallet with debit and credit cards. The thief then fled on foot eastbound on Flushing. No injuries were reported.

To Catch a Car Thief

Police received a report about someone stealing a radio out of a purple 1993 Buick parked near 264 Waverly Ave. on Thursday, Dec. 2 at 4 a.m. Upon arriving at the scene, an officer spotted the vehicle leaving the location, making a left turn onto Greene Avenue without using a turn signal. After stopping the vehicle, the officer discovered that the steering column had been popped. A man, Gurniel Powell, 56, was arrested at the scene.

MacBook Swiped at LIU

A student in the library at 's Brooklyn campus put her laptop on a table while using the restroom on Monday, Nov. 28 at 2:30 p.m. only to return shortly after to find it stolen. Police report that there are security cameras at the location.

Hands Off My Debit Cards!

A woman discovered three debit cards from three different financial institutions missing on Monday, Nov. 28. Upon further investigation, the victim found out that $5,018.70 worth of unauthorized purchases dating back to Nov. 16 had been made on the cards.

Nevins Street Takedown

A woman riding the No. 2 train southbound from Penn Station in Manhattan had her iPhone swiped by a male in his 30s while her car stopped at Nevins Street Station on Tuesday, Nov. 29 at 6:40 p.m. The thief fled towards the northbound platform, with a police officer giving chase. The perp, identified as Sherland Allen, 36, was arrested on the northbound mezzanine of the station.

Convenience Store Criminals

A 19-year-old woman carrying New Jersey ID left her wallet on the counter of the 7-Eleven convenience mart on Flatbush Avenue Ext. on Tuesday, Nov. 29 at 10:30 p.m.  One of two suspects then took the wallet off the counter and handed it to the other. Both suspects returned shortly afterward and made purchases using the victim's credit card totaling $48.56. A canvass later turned up the thieves—a woman and a male, both in their 20s.

BlackBerry... How Sweet It Isn't

A victim returned to his car parked in front of 926 Fulton St. in Clinton Hill on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 1 p.m. to find his front window broken and BlackBerry stolen.

Laptop, Other Items Stolen From Car

After parking his car at S. Portland and Atlantic avenues on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 10 a.m., a man returned to find his passenger side door lock damaged and a Dell laptop, external hard drive, eyeglasses and black computer bag missing. The items total reported value: $1,930.

An Impressive Haul of Electronics Taken

The owner of a car parked at Park Avenue and Steuben Street on the night of Nov. 22-23 reported his vehicle broken into and $2,250 worth of electronics stolen. Items removed from the car included a Sony VAIO laptop, iPhone, Pioneer Sound system and a GPS.

Thief Finds Some 'Extra Space' For Someone Else's Stuff

While moving items from Extra Space Storage at 41 Flatbush Ave. to a rental truck on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 6:50 p.m., a man placed two bags in the vehicle's front seat. In the bags were Burberry wallets valued at $250 each, Louis Vuitton wallets valued at $400 and Gucci wallets worth $250, as well as a Gucci canvas travel case. The owner of the items did not notice their disappearance until he reached Pennsylvania. No signs of forcible entry were found on the truck, though the window was left half open. Total worth of the items in the bags was $8,902.

A "G" Train Ride to Remember

A man heading home on Thursday, Dec. 1 at 11 p.m. on the G Train from Hoyt-Schermerhorn Station discovered that his wallet was missing upon arrival at Classon Avenue Station. The man later discovered that an unauthorized credit card transaction in the amount of $312 and a debit card transaction worth $104 had been made.

An Unwelcome Gift From Macy's

After going through her mail on Thursday, Dec. 1, a resident of Cumberland Street discovered a Macy's credit card bill in the amount of $427.92. One problem: the woman states she never opened a Macy's account.

Car Stolen On S. Elliott Place

A car parked on S. Elliott Place was discovered missing on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 5 p.m. Police did not see any broken glass at the location and nearby security guards said they didn't hear anything unusual.

Saw 2?

A worker at 15 Washington Ave. reported a $2,000 chop saw missing from his vehicle that was left unlocked on Tuesday, Nov. 29 at 2:05 p.m. The reporter said that the thief possibly fled in a white vehicle. The worker told police that this was the second time someone tried to break into his vehicle.

Thousands of Dollars Worth of Tools Stolen

Unknown suspect(s) stole a nail gun compressor, rigid table saw, chop saw and two circular saws from a residence on Adelphi Street in Fort Greene on Friday, Dec. 2 between noon and 3:20 p.m. There were no signs of forced entry.
