Suspects Wanted in Fort Greene Robbery Pattern

The NYPD put out a public request for assistance on Saturday to help identify suspects wanted in connection with a violent robbery pattern taking place in the 88th Precinct of Brooklyn.

Cops are searching for three teens who "approach victims, punch them and remove property, then flee on foot," according to a report. Police believe the trio may frequent the Whitman Houses located in Fort Greene.

The first robbery incident took place on Sunday, April 14, at approximately 12:55 a.m. at the corner of DeKalb Avenue and Fort Greene Park, cops said. A male, 27, reportedly walked past a group of male teens while speaking on his cellphone. After passing the group, he was punched in the back of his head and was physically assaulted, police said. The assailants then took the victim's cellphone and his earrings and fled. Despite bruising to the side of his face and lacerations to the lip and ear, the victim did not seek medical attention.

According to reports, a male, 14, "was walking home from school when he was approached from behind by a suspect who punched him in the face and took his iPhone," stated the alert.

A third robbery took place again on April 17 at 7:36 p.m. at the corner of DeKalb Avenue and Washington Park, when a female, 27, was approached from behind while speaking on her iPhone, cops said. A suspect grabbed the cellphone from her hand and fled on foot, according to the report.
