Stone-Wielding Couple Attacks Woman and Child: This Week's Police Blotter

Bizarre attack at Nevins Street subway station.

Assault

  • Police arrested a man and woman, identified as Ronald Pauling, 52, and Shandell Jackson, 30, for hitting two straphangers with a rock while they waited for a train at Nevins St subway station on July 20 at 9:05 a.m. One of the victims, a 30-year-old woman, was struck in the face while holding a 5 year old.
  • An unknown perp threw a water bottle and hit a 66-year-old woman as she walked on the sidewalk at a Citibank at 430 Myrtle Ave. on July 16 at around noon. Police believe the water bottle was thrown from an apartment above the bank.
  • Two men, age 20 and 21, were shot in the left leg as they ran away from the sound of gunshots at Atlantic Terminal Houses on July 18 at around 2:15 a.m. The 21-year-old was taken to Lutheran Hospital. The other victim was taken to Long Island College Hospital. A canvass of the area did not turn up any clues.
  • While standing on the corner of Lafayette and Classon avenues, a male ex-con on parole struck a 38-year-old woman on the right side of the face with a cellphone on July 21 at 8:45 p.m. The woman asked police for an order of protection against the man.

Larceny

  • On July 10 at 10 a.m., an unknown perp stole a 45-year-old man’s wallet near the corner of S. Oxford Street and Hanson Place and later used a Chase debit card to make fraudulent purchases.
  • HSBC Bank informed a resident of Clinton Avenue on July 21 that her card had been blocked due to suspicious activity totaling $8,146.44. The woman told police that she had the card in her possession during the times the charges were made.
  • A storage locker renter discovered a pair of iPod Dock speakers, a Sony Brevia Home Theater, Panasonic DVD player and a chair missing from a unit at a facility located at 12 Hall St. on July 8. Two locks on the units were not found to be damaged.
  • While walking north on Clermont Avenue, a 32-year-old woman had her iPhone snatched by an unknown perp who then ran in the opposite direction on July 16 at around 9:25 p.m. After giving chase, the woman saw the perp flee into 770 Fulton St.
  • After setting her iPhone down inside her open pocketbook on a Subway counter and then turning away to throw out some trash at 365 Flatbush Avenue Ext. on July 16 at 6 p.m., the woman later discovered the device, along with her wallet and credit cards, missing.
  • An unknown perp made charges totaling $1,358.50 on a 54-year-old woman’s credit card while the Carlton Avenue resident was in Florida.
  • A $1,500 bicycle was ripped from a mount on a vehicle parked near 300 Vanderbilt Ave. on July 22 at around 11:40 a.m.

Grand theft auto

  • The owner of A 2002 Ford Econoline reported the vehicle stolen from a street parking space in the vicinity of 443 Washington Ave. on the afternoon of July 19.
  • After parking her motorcycle at 301 Cumberland St. before bed in the early hours of July 20, a woman woke up later that morning to find the vehicle missing.

Burglary

  • A resident of 507 Clinton Ave. discovered a motorbike, bike and tools stolen on July 16 at around 7:30 a.m.

Robbery

  • A perp armed with a black and silver gun robbed a 32-year-old man of a duffel bag, keys, iPhone, flashlight and wallet at Fulton Street and Washington Avenue on July 19 at 3:45 a.m. No injuries were reported.
  • Police arrested a 23-year-old man for robbing another man at gunpoint on the street at Clinton and Park avenues on July 21 at around 4 p.m. According to the victim, the 23-year-old, along with two other perps, got out of a car at the corner, yelling, “Just give it up. You know what we want.” The car then cut the victim off, at which point one of the perps got out of the vehicle and said, “Don’t make us shoot you” as he held a black automatic handgun, stealing the victim’s keys, BlackBerry, gold chain and gold ring. Police later pulled over the 23-year-old driving alone in the car with a ziplock bag of marijuana in plain sight in the front seat. The two other perps are still at large.
  • While standing at the corner of Lafayette Avenue and St. James Place on 1:20 p.m. on July 21, a perp approached a 14-year-old male and told him to “pass that phone.” The perp then threw the teen to the ground and took his HTC Touch cellphone and fled east on Lafayette.
  • A perp described as a black male jumped out of a black SUV at Putnam and Classon avenues on July 22 at 5 a.m. and robbed a 36-year-old man at gunpoint while he talked with a woman, saying, “Give me everything you got.” The woman and the perp then got into the SUV and fled west on Putnam.
