Six Buildings Evacuated Due To Electrical Fire

A stretch of Clinton Hill was in chaos on Tuesday due to a blaze that took place underground.

Six buildings and roughly 30 people were evacuated along Myrtle Avenue on Tuesday due to an electrical fire that took place underground, according to FDNY.

The fire occurred in two manholes and a basement beneath one of the Clinton Hill buildings, officials said.

As a result, crews had to cut off electricity to the area to put out the blaze. Meanwhile, elevated levels of carbon monoxide were detected and occupants were instructed to vacate the premises.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
