Senior Center Worker Allegedly Makes Off With $82K in Company Funds: This Week's Police Blotter

No arrests have been made in the scheme uncovered last Thursday.

The following arrest information was supplied by the New York Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Senior Center Employee Accused of Stealing $82K in Company Funds

An employee of Fort Greene Council, Inc., which operates 14 senior centers across Brooklyn including at 966 Fulton St. in Clinton Hill, made an unauthorized bank transfer involving $82,036 in company funds sometime between Tuesday and Thursday last week, police said. The account receiving the funds was traced back to the employee, who has not been identified or taken into custody.

Robbery at Clinton-Washington Ave. "G" Line Station

Two men robbed a 26-year-old man entering the Clinton-Washington Ave. subway station at Clinton Avenue on Tuesday, Aug. 23 at 1 a.m. The first suspect punched the victim causing a cut above his left eye. The second suspect then took a Palm Pre Plus smartphone, $31 in cash and an NYU student ID.

iPhone Robbery Near Pratt Campus

An unidentified victim had their iPhone 3G stolen near the intersection of Hall Street and Willoughby Avenue in Clinton Hill on Tuesday, Aug. 23 at 2:30 p.m. The suspect punched the victim in the face and took the phone from a pant pocket. The robber then fled northbound on Hall Street towards Myrtle Avenue on foot. 

Teen Robbed at Gunpoint For iPhone

While walking westbound on Willoughby Avenue between Hall Street and Classon Avenue near Pratt, a 17-year-old male was robbed by three males on Tuesday, Aug. 23 at 10:15 p.m. During the robbery, one of the suspects pulled out a black handgun and said, "Give me your s**t," taking the teen's iPhone from a pants pocket. The suspects then ran eastbound on Willoughby Avenue. 

Man Robbed, Then Beaten Until Unconscious 

Near the corner of Dekalb Avenue and Washington Park last Wednesday at 10:30 p.m., a 27-year-old man was grabbed from behind by an unknown assailant, forced to the ground and robbed of his Android smartphone, iPad 2, brown leather bag and wallet. The victim said the suspect punched him in the face while he was lying on the ground, causing him to lose consciousness. On Friday, Police arrested Gregory Schwenk, 32, at an address on Classon Avenue.

iPhone Robbery on S. Elliott in Fort Greene

Last Wednesday at 11 p.m. on S. Elliott Place, an unknown suspect approached a 23-year-old man from behind. In fear for his safety, the man took his wallet and iPhone place them on the ground. The suspect then picked up the iPhone and fled westbound on Lafayette Avenue. 

Thief Riding Bicycle Targets Woman

A thief riding a bicycle on Washington Avenue between Willoughby and Myrtle avenues last Thursday at 3:30 a.m robbed a 31-year-old woman at gunpoint. The suspect flashed a silver handgun and demanded the woman hand over her brown Coach handbag with a wallet, debit and credit cards inside. The thief then rode northbound on Washington Avenue with the bag. 

iPhone Robbery at Classon and Putnam

As she walked from a store at 492 Classon Ave. last Friday at 4 a.m., a woman in her 40s was followed by unknown suspect who asked her if he could use her iPhone to make a call. When the woman took the phone out, the suspect grabbed it out of her hand. The victim then grabbed the thief's shirt, fighting to get her phone back. The suspect then reached into his pocket as if to pull out a weapon and jumped into the backseat of a white vehicle that drove off northbound on Classon. The woman was uninjured. The store's video cameras may have captured the robbery on tape. 

Few Details in Afternoon Stabbing on Fulton St.

A 25-year-old male was stabbed in the chest and abdomen on Monday, Aug. 22 at 1:30 p.m. in a residence on Fulton Street between Carlton and Clermont avenues in Fort Greene. Police said the victim refused to cooperate with the investigation.

Woman Strangled at Whitman Houses

A man, identified by police as Tariq Abdurrahman, 40, choked a 24-year-old woman in an apartment at last Thursday at 2:05 a.m. The victim said Abdurrahman put his hand around her neck and held her against the wall. Police said the two lived in the same unit, however the relationship between the victim and Abdurrahman was unclear. 

Bag Stolen at Lafayette Avenue Boutique

A man closing up , a boutique located at 85 Lafayette Ave., discovered his black Nike bag missing with a laptop, iPad, hard drive and iPod inside on Aug. 18 at 9:45 a.m. Through surveillance footage, the man saw a black male wearing a white baseball cap and white T-shirt walk away with the bag, which was left in front of the store. 

Woman's Handbag Snatched at Dekalb Ave. Bar

A woman leaving her bag unattended while using the restroom at on Tuesday, Aug. 23 at 10:08 p.m. returned to discover her wallet, credit cards and iPhone missing. Though the bar has security cameras, they were not pointed in the direction where the theft took place. The victim's bank notified her of unauthorized activity on her credit card account. 

iPhone Swipe on Waverly and Fulton

A thief rode past a 24-year-old woman near the intersection of Waverly Avenue and Fulton Street and snatched an iPhone out of her hand last Wednesday at 1:14 p.m. 

Wallet Stolen at Pathmark Near Atlantic Terminal

While shopping at the Pathmark at 625 Atlantic Ave., a woman's black wallet was stolen from her stroller on Friday at 10:30 p.m. $47 in cash, along with a MasterCard and Excelle debit card, was taken. 

Attempted Car Robbery Causes Lots of Damage

An employee of in Fort Greene discovered his Honda Civic broken into in an attempt to steal the vehicle. The car's window molding, ignition cylinder and dashboard were damaged during the attempted robbery, which occurred sometime during the night and early morning of Monday, Aug. 22/Tuesday, Aug. 23. 

Jeep Stolen on Park Ave.

A man discovered his 1994 Jeep Cherokee missing after parking the vehicle in front of 275 Park Ave. on the night of Monday, Aug. 22.
