Second Murder at Lafayette Gardens This Month
The violence at the housing projects continues.
A 22-year-old man was fatally shot at the Lafayette Gardens houses on Thursday — the second such incident at the projects this month.
Police said that a black male was found with two gunshots to the torso on DeKalb Avenue between Kent and Franklin avenues at around 7:50 p.m. The victim was pronounced dead at Brooklyn Hospital. No arrests have been made.
The shooting is only the latest in a string of violent episodes.

And late in March a 24-year-old man was left in critical condition after being stabbed at the houses that stretch from Classon to Franklin avenues.

Police had even set up a mobile watchtower at a corner of the projects as a crime deterrent, apparently to little effect.
