Man Injured in Waverly Avenue Blaze

A man was taken to Brooklyn Hospital with minor burns.

A man was injured in a blaze that broke out in the basement of a Waverly Avenue brownstone early Saturday morning. 

The victim was taken to Brooklyn Hospital and treated for minor burns, an FDNY spokesperson told Patch. 

More than 60 firefighters from 12 units responded to the fire, which sparked at 177 Waverly Avenue at 1:38 a.m. It was put down at 3:20 a.m.

The source of the fire remains unknown.
