Man Tries to Swipe Almost 40 Watches From Target: More From This Week's Blotter

Incident occurred at the Atlantic Center Mall on Feb. 19.

Crook Snatches iPhone on Q Train

A 35-year-old woman's iPhone was snatched while she was aboard a train at 10:15 p.m. on Jan. 27. As the southbound Q train entered Atlantic Avenue and the doors opened, a crook took her phone and fled in an unknown direction.

Crook Swipes Woman's Wallet at Barclays Center

A quick-handed crook stole a woman’s iPhone, Green Card, MetroCard and credit card while at Barclays Center Feb. 16. The 27-year-old victim told police that she was at Barclays Center on Atlantic Avenue when she left her wallet near her seat to go to the bathroom at around 11 p.m. When she returned shortly after, he found that someone had stolen her wallet. The crook got away with her iPhone, Green card, MetroCard and credit card. 

Car Broken Into on Willoughby Avenue 

At 9:46 a.m. on Feb. 18, a 26-year-old woman told police she discovered her car, which she had parked in front of aWilloughby Avenue home near Hall Street, broken into. The small rear passenger side window was broken and property was removed including her iPhone, wallet, credit cards and metro card. 

Woman Pick-pocketed While Riding the Bus

At 5 p.m. on Feb. 19, a 49-year-old woman was riding a bus near Lafayette and Washington avenues when a crook took her credit cards and debit cards from her pocket. She confronted who she thought was the perp and he fled off the bus into the Classon Avenue G train station. The credit card company said her credit card was used to card to buy a metro card at the station. 

Man Attempts to Steal Almost 40 Watches at Target

Police arrested a 51-year-old crook for stealing almost 40 watches from a department store in the Atlantic Center Mall, worth $1,155, Feb. 19. An employee of Target told police that the crook, a 51-year-old man, removed 36 watches from the store at around 10:45 p.m. and left without paying. The employee said that the estimated cost is $1,155. Polcie arrested the crook shortly after the crime.

Purse Stolen at Marshall's 

A crook stole a woman’s purse, getting away with over $800 in cash and belongings, while shopping at a department store in the Atlantic Center Mall Feb. 21. The 35-year-old victim told police that she was shopping at Marshall’s and placed her purse under the shopping cart at around 6:30 p.m. and walked through the store. At around 7 p.m., she realized her purse was gone. The crook got away with a yellow leather purse, a leather bag, electronic dictionary, a print dictionary, monthly MetroCard, English textbook, makeup, three credit cards, and $120 cash. 

Sticky Fingers Strike Greene Avenue Store

At 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 22, a man entered a Greene Avenue store located near Grand Avenue and when a 25-year-old woman's back was turned, he swiped her iPhone and wallet which held her debit and credit cards. 

Perp Snatches Woman's Purse on Washington Avenue 

At 7:45 p.m. on Feb. 22, a 44-year-old woman told police she was walking south on Washington Avenue near DeKalb Avenue when a man grabbed her bag from behind and ran toward Lafayette Avenue. He got away with her benefit card, debit cards and cash.
