Man Shot In the Thigh at Whitman Houses

Incident occurred early Sunday morning.

A man was shot once in the leg early Sunday at 135 Washington Walk at , police and fire officials said.

According to police, officers first arrived at the scene at 2:35 a.m.

The man was transported to Kings County Hospital in serious condition, according to FDNY.

Police said the man was in stable condition as of Sunday evening.

No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, according to police.

The latest incident at Whitman comes as officials continue to grapple with persistent bouts of violence in the city's housing projects.

Last month, Whitman and Ingersoll Houses was the scene of organized in the wake of the shooting deaths of Fort Greene public housing residents , 20, on March 5, and , 21, on March 20.
