Man Shot in His Car by Unknown Perp: This Week's Police Blotter

Incident occurred on Putnam Avenue.

Robbery

At 7:45 p.m. on Jan. 27, as a man entered a building on Hudson Walk near Myrtyle Avenue, he was approached by two males from behind. One male grabbed the victim while the other punched him twice in the face and tried to take his property from his pockets. The victim yelled and the men ran from the location without any of the man's property. The victim refused medical attention. 

At 6:53 p.m. on Jan 28, a 12-year-old boy reported he was walking on Hall Street toward DeKalb Avenue when a perp walked along side him and said, "Let me search your pockets," indicating he had a gun. The perp took the boy's iPhone 4 from his pocket and told the boy to give him the iPhone's unlock code or he would shoot, but the boy said he did not see a gun. The perp fled south on Hall Street. 

At 8:30 a.m. on Feb. 2, three males and one female entered a Lafayette Deli at 376 Lafayette Ave. One male took a juice and refused to pay for it, indicating he had a gun. Another male picked up a stick from the store and swung it at the store's employee, causing two lacerations o his right hand. Two 15-year-old males and one 14-year-old female were arrested in connection to the incident, but one male was able to get away. 

Assault

At 10 p.m. on Jan. 25 at the Whitman Houses, an argument between friends quickly escalated as a 28-year-old male was attacked by his friend who grabbed a knife and tried unsuccessfully to stab the male. The friend also threw a glass cup at the male, which hit the floor instead. 

At 2:09 a.m. on Feb. 1 a 32-year-old male reported that he was walking to the C Train on Clermont Avenue and Fulton Street when a perp walked up to him and attempted to cut him with a box cutter. The man's 33-year-old coworker helped hold down the perp until a small navy blue Cadillac SUV came up on the sidewalk, hitting the coworker and causing a contusion to his left thigh and bruising to his left foot. The 32-year-old victim sustained cuts to his right elbow and left knee and was taken to Woodhull Hospital by his supervisor. The 33-year-old was taken to Woodhull Hospital by his supervisor. 

At 4:30 a.m. on Feb. 2 a 35-year-old man walked into LICH Hospital and said he was sitting in his vehicle on Putnam Avenue when he was shot by an unknown perp in his upper thigh. The vehicle had two bullet holes on the driver's side and one bullet hole in the rear of the vehicle. 

At 11:45 p.m. on Jan. 2 at the Tillary Street Women's Shelter, a 57-year-old woman said she was struck three times in the left bicep by a cane, causing substantial bruising and swelling.  A 55-year-old woman was arrested in connection to the incident.

Burglary 

At 12 p.m. on Jan. 28 a person reported an unknown perp entered a room inside a Pratt Institute building on Willoughby Avenue from the drop down ceiling and and removed a property valued at more than $10,000. Occupants of the next door office did not hear or see anything.

At 8:59 a.m. on Jan. 31 a Verizon worker reported that while at a job at Grand Avenue and Lefferts Place, a perp entered his Verizon van and removed tools valued at $990.

At 12:17 p.m. on Feb. 1 a 30-year-old female reported that she returned to her Park Avenue apartment located near Adelphi Street after being away for three days and discovered the front door of her apartment forced in. When she entered the apartment, she discovered property including a guitar, DVD Player, DVDs and microphone taken.
