Man Goes to the Mat Over Beer: This Week's Police Blotter

Incident occurred in Myrtle Avenue deli.

A round-up of recent robberies in the area:

On March 17 at 8:30 p.m., a 31-year-old man was on South Oxford Street and DeKalb Avenue when he was approached by three men who told him to give up his phone. When he declined, one of the perps hit him in the face. The victim handed over his Samsung Galaxy S3 and the perps ran away.

On March 20 at 8:30 p.m., a 62-year-old woman was on Lafayette Avenue and Washington Avenue when a man walked up to her and told him to give him what she had. The man then reached into the victim's pocked and took her wallet, which contained her social security card, Medicaid card, credit cards, cash and food stamp card. 

On March 21 at 2 p.m., a 22-year-old man was on Lafayette Avenue between Classon and Grand avenues, when a man followed him, pushed him and tried to take his iPhone. Police arrested a 22-year-old man in connection to the incident.

On March 23 at 1:30 a.m., a 22-year-old man entered a store on Myrtle Avenue between Carlton Avenue and Adelphi Street, and put a bottle of Budweiser in his pocket. When a store employee approached the man and told him to take the beer from his pocket, the man swung at him and they started to fight. The store employee's upper rigth arm was injured, but he refused medical treatment. The man, who was arrested, was also injured and was brought to Brooklyn Hospital to be treated.

On March 23 at 9 p.m., a 51-year-old man was riding his bicycle on Grand Avenue near Flushing Avenue, when three men kicked him off his bike and tried to take his property. The perps— a 44-year-old man, a 52-year-old man and a 29-year-old man — fled on Grand Avenue, but were found and arrested on Myrtle and Classon avenues.
