Man Found Dead on Carlton Avenue

Incident early Sunday is fourth fatal shooting at Fort Greene Houses this year.

A 27-year-old man was found Sunday with a single gunshot wound to the head at Whitman Houses, according to the New York Police Department.

The victim was pronounced dead at Brooklyn Hospital, police said.

According to police, public housing safety officers discovered Jamor Crawford at 1:42 a.m. outside 124 Carlton Ave., a six-story residential tower.

Police said Crawford was a resident of a building on nearby Cumberland Walk.

Crawford is the fourth fatal shooting victim at Whitman, Ingersoll and Farragut Houses so far this year.

In March, Justin Cherry, 20, and Jaquan Webb, 21, were shot and killed within weeks of each other—prompting a march against gun violence led by local clergy, residents and elected officials.

Jorge Robaina, 30, was shot dead at Farragut Houses on Sept. 4.

There are no arrests, police said. The investigation is ongoing.

The videotape as painful as it is ought remain posted to YOU TUBE. Folks need to see the reality of the streets. People need to stop and think about the pain all these killings causes our community. Some of the ones who posted their oppostision to the tape are the same ones who push the 'no snitching' scam. Persons committing these crimes must know no safe haven in our community. Somebody knows something. How many folks have been shot and killed in that area in the past three years?
