Man Armed With Scissors Shot by Police in Fort Greene

Police say the man was brought to Kings County Hospital in critical condition.

 

A man armed with a pair of scissors was shot by a police officer in an abandoned Fort Greene building Wednesdsay afternoon, police said. 

At approximately 3:20 p.m., police were flagged down outside 48 Fort Greene Pl. near Lafayette and DeKalb Avenues and entered the vacant building, which is across the street from Brooklyn Technical High School, police said.

The 40-year-old man, armed with scissors, was shot in the chest by a police officer after he lunged at an officer and a civilian, City Room reports.

The man was brought to Kings County Hospital in critical condition. Further details, including the man's identity and further details surrounding the shooting, were not immediately available.
