Fracas at Atlantic Terminal Mall: This Week's Police Blotter

Three victims fight off would-be robbers.

The following arrest information was provided by the New York Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Fight Breaks Out at Buffalo Wild Wings

While at Buffalo Wild Wings at Atlantic Terminal Mall last Tuesday at approximately 4:45 p.m., two unknown individuals approached three males and asked one of them what he had in his pockets. One of the perps then pulled out a knife and padded down one of the victims, a 17 year old, to make sure his pockets were empty. The second perp then asked the other two males to turn over their stuff. When the second perp punched one of them in the back of the head, the victim fought back, breaking his eyeglasses in the process. A search by police failed to turn up the suspects.

Headphones Stolen at McDonald's

Two males approached a 16-year-old inside a McDonald's restaurant located at 395 Flatbush Ave. Ext. at Fulton Street and demanded to see the teen's Beats By Dr. Dre headphones last Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. When the teen refused, the two moved a chair away and came closer. The victim then reached into his bag and handed over the headphones. The robbers fled westbound on Fulton Street.

A Generous Act Goes Unrewarded on Greene Ave.

When a man asked a 13-year-old for a dollar last Friday at 7:20 a.m., the teen opened his wallet to pick out a bill. However, the man instead grabbed $12 in cash and walked away towards a nearby subway station. When the teen attempted to follow the man to get his money back, the robber threatened to punch him, fleeing into the subway. The teen described the man as having facial bumps in the area of his beard and wearing grey Nike Shock sneakers.

Storage Company Burglarized

Dumbo Moving Storage reported more than a thousand dollars worth of items stolen sometime between Nov. 16 and last Tuesday. An employee at the company stated that the items were stored in an open area on the ground level of the building located at 15 N. Oxford St. The unknown robber(s) entered the building by breaking a padlock.

A Very Bad Day For One Cigarette Wholesaler

Last Saturday at 2:40 p.m. at Fourth Ave. Cigarettes, located at 395 Flatbush Ave. Ext., an unknown person gained access to an unlocked truck and popped open a small locked cash box and stole $6,917 in cash and checks. The Evidence Collection Unit were notified and investigating the incident.

Items Stolen in PC Richards Parking Lot

While his car was parked in the PC Richards and Son lot at 590 Atlantic Ave. on the evening of Monday, Dec. 12, an unknown perp broke the passenger side window and stole a L.L. Bean backpack with checks, a clip board and assorted business files inside. The 45-year-old victim was shopping at the store at the time of the incident. Though the lot has security cameras installed, PC Richards employees said they did not have access to the footage.

Diner Employee Victim of Crime

An 61-year-old employee of Hanson Place Coffee and Restaurant left her purse behind a counter table only to find it missing upon her return from using the restroom. In the bag were a driver's license, checkbook, keys and a Medicaid card.

Woman Shoplifts With Daughter in Tow

A woman arrested for shoplifting at Target in Atlantic Terminal Mall last Wednesday around midnight was caught in the act while in the company of her daughter.

'File-Sharing' Experience Goes Awry

While showing his friend some music on his Samsung phone last Wednesday at 3:50 p.m., an unknown perp grabbed the teen's device out of his hand and fled northbound on Fort Greene Place towards Dekalb Avenue. A police search failed to turn up the suspect.

Clinton Hill Man Gets Mammoth Phone Bill

A 50-year-old Clinton Hill man discovered last Wednesday that he was the victim of identity theft, with his Social Security number used to charge $2,770 on various accounts with AT&T. A name given to a collection agency in connection with the accounts was Carlos Milan.

Storage Locker Customer Finds Items Missing

American Self-Storage on 202 Tillary St. informed one of their customers last Tuesday that the lock on her storage unit had been broken, with $10,100 worth of Gucci shoes, handbags, accessories and jewelry stolen. The 41-year-old victim confirmed that the items had been stolen at some point between May 13 and last week.

Fort Greene Houses Resident Robbed By Friend

Soon after inviting a friend to her apartment at 145 N. Elliott Walk in Fort Greene Houses last Wednesday afternoon, a woman discovered two yellow metal bracelets, an engagement ring and cash missing.

Bag Stolen at Five Guys

After leaving a bag at a Five Guys on 1 Flatbush Ave. last Friday morning, a 20-year-old man returned that night to find it missing, with cash, a debit and benefits card and black wallet inside. No charges were made on the credit card. The victim refused to be interviewed by the 88th Precinct's Detective Squad.

Father of Woman's Baby Arrested in Attack

An 18-year-old mother accused her baby's father of grabbing her arm and stealing a cellphone prior to entering a barbershop located at 341 Myrtle Ave. last Saturday at 5 p.m. After entering the storefront, the man, identified by police as Areal Lewis, 20, grabbed the woman by the neck and began choking her. Lewis also tried to take the woman's child from a stroller. During the arrest, Lewis refused to be handcuffed, causing injury to a police officer.

Target Employee Caught in the Act

Over a period of a week from Dec. 10-17, a Target employee put $1,800 on gift cards while working a cash register. The employee was caught in the act by the store's surveillance system.

Man Leaves Keys in Ignition...

While visiting a bakery located at 781 Fulton St. last Tuesday at 6:18 p.m., a man left his keys in his unlocked 2007 Chrysler with the engine running. While he was in the bakery, the victim saw an unknown individual speed away westbound on Fulton and make a right onto Lafayette Avenue going eastbound.

Motorcycle Reported Stolen

A man discovered his motorcycle stolen from the sidewalk in front of 299 Adelphi St. last Wednesday at noon. The motorcycle was secured to the gate with a chain and lock.

Car Stolen on Carlton Ave.

After parking his 1994 Jeep Cherokee in the vicinity of 179 Carlton Ave. last Friday at 7 p.m., the man returned the next morning to find it gone. No broken glass was found on the sidewalk, and other police checks on tow pounds were negative.

Nissan MIA From St. James Place

The driver of a 1995 Nissan Maxima reported a car stolen from a spot in the vicinity of St. James Place last Saturday at 5 p.m. The car belonged to the driver's father.
