Fort Greene Teen Caught Jumping Turnstile With Gun
16-year-old collared by police at Bergen Street station in Prospect Heights.
Call it a trifecta for the New York Police Department.
Police caught Tyrell Thomas, 16, committing three crimes simultaneously Saturday when they busted the teen for fare evasion while carrying a loaded firearm and an unspecified amount of marijuana.
The incident occurred at 6:07 p.m. after officers saw the Fort Greene resident and another individual enter the turnstile at Bergen Street station on the No. 2 and 3 line at the same time, police said.

During the arrest, the teen attempted to reach for the front of his waistband, where an officer found a .380 semi-automatic nickel-plated firearm, according to police. The other suspect fled the scene.
Police later found the marijuana stuffed into the teen's left sock.
Thomas has been charged with criminal possession of a weapon, obstructing governmental administration, unlawful possession of marijuana and disorderly conduct.
