Fire on Cumberland Street

Firefighters put out a small fire on Cumberland Street, between Park and Flushing avenues, quickly on Sunday.

A small fire broke out on the top floor of a four-story residential building on Cumberland Street at around 1:54 p.m. on Sunday.

Firemen were on the scene, between Park and Flushing avenues, within minutes to extinguish the small flames, which were under control by 2:13 p.m., an FDNY official said.

Twelve fire engines and ladders responded to the call, with a total of 60 firefighters.

No residents were hurt, but one fireman did sustain injuries. 

The cause of the fire is unknown and is being investigated.
